What do you get when you cross a jack-of-all-trades with a technical expert?
That sounds like the start of a joke - and frankly, in some ways, that’s kind of what it was, at first - but after enough conversations of “if I had my own business, here’s how I’d run it”… The idea of running a business stuck. Madeline is a CPA with over 15 years of experience in public accounting, working primarily with small businesses among a wide array of industries. Michael comes from a more varied background in business development, sales, and client management - in other words, all the skills that seem to be in short supply among accountants. Figuring their complementary skillsets would lend itself well to a different kind of firm, lo and behold - Beyond The Pines Tax was born.

After nearly two decades in business development, retail management, and sales, Michael has honed his skills building strong relationships, growing businesses and teams, and auditing and implementing processes. If you have a question, or need help, he’s the guy to reach out to. When off the clock, Michael entertains his two young children - including the neighbor kids that congregate. In the spirit of full “Dad” mode, he also spends more time than necessary working on the lawn. Everything but the standard white New Balance dad shoes.

After a long stint at a reputable local firm that gave her a well-rounded foundation in tax and financial statement preparation, Madeline went on to work for remote firms that gave her experience with fractional CFO services and advanced tax planning. With over fifteen years of accounting experience, working for and with small businesses across multiple states, she finds fulfilment in helping clients achieve their goals, no matter how big or small. Accounting is a dynamic industry that she weirdly loves (don’t worry, she doesn’t expect you to feel the same way). She’s an expert in tax, an amateur outdoorswoman, and a elementary-school mom flying by the seat of her pants.
